Mary Nelson

Mary is a highly talented professional who has been practicing for over sixteen years. Her advanced educational background is extensive and she has trained with some of the industry’s top professionals. Most recently she worked New York Fashion Week on behalf of Moroccanoil for designers including Oscar de la Renta, Veronica Beard, Marchesa, Cushnie et Ochs and Georgine. She has colored and styled hair for photoshoots and traveled to New York to collaborate on projects with editorial stylists and artistic directors. Prior to relocating to the Boston suburbs and opening Salon Sparrow, Mary worked and trained on Newbury Street. She honed her cutting and styling techniques through many courses taken at the Moroccanoil Academy and the Bumble and Bumble University located in Manhattan. As a Master Educator for Moroccanoil Mary travels the Northeast visiting high end salons where she utilizes her experience and education to train other industry professionals in cutting, bridal styling and finishing techniques. She also teaches haircutting at the Moroccanoil Academy located in Manhattan.  Mary specializes in highlighting, corrective color, resistant grey coverage, and all forms of technical cutting.

Amanda Motta

Amanda is an accomplished senior stylist who brings 4 years of experience to the Salon Sparrow team. Her ability to assess her client’s features, face shape and lifestyle allow her to direct people to their best look. Amanda specializes in highlighting and has a knack for color formulation. She also loves working with layering techniques on both short and long hair. In addition to hairstyling Amanda is a talented makeup artist who has free-lanced with many major brands in the music and advertising industries. She has completed Salon Sparrow’s training program, which involves one on one cut and color education with salon owner Mary Nelson. She has also completed the 2018 and 2019 Moroccanoil class collection which includes straight razor, formal style, braid and blow dry training. Amanda not only has a passion for styling hair, she is a true people person. She says, “I love this job because I not only get to enhance a person’s outer beauty but I can bring out their inner beauty as well.”

Diana Dupuis

Diana is a highly educated master stylist with over fourteen years of experience. She believes in advanced education and staying up to date on the latest techniques and trends. Diana has completed advanced color training with Wella, Redken, and Goldwell. She is a talented balayage artist who has honed her highlighting techniques by taking advanced classes with Oligo and other skilled artists. Over the years she has taken cutting classes with many different educators including those affiliated with Tigi, Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, and Pureology. Her passion for hairstyling recently motivated her to take several advanced trainings in cutting and styling at the Moroccanoil Academy in Manhattan. Diana’s areas of expertise include long layering techniques, personally customized highlights, and formal styles. With Diana as your stylist, your ideas and concerns will always be heard, and she will work with you to make sure your style is creative yet lifestyle appropriate. In addition she will spend the time and energy necessary to teach you the styling techniques needed for you to recreate at home.
